Website development

Supply-oriented website for more relevance

Knowledge Institute for Municipalities is a new platform on a new domain name. Our challenge was to be quickly findable on competitive search terms with the right SEO strategy.

To bring demand, search query and solution together, we chose a specific offer-oriented layout. This results in landing pages for specific training courses that seamlessly match the website visitor’s demand. This high relevance also ensures better findability in Google.

Smarter management through the use of templates

What if a change is needed on a page? Then you don’t want to go through all the pages individually. To make managing the website as easy as possible, we developed custom templates that retrieve backend data and display it correctly to the visitor. Whenever a change is needed, we can edit the template from a single location.

Lightning-fast technology

Speed is obviously important for visitors and Google. With a combination of WordPress and Google Cloud web hosting, the website is lightning-fast for users, but also easy to manage. In our technology, we use the default WordPress editor Gutenberg as much as possible. We avoid using a page builder such as Elementor or Divi as much as possible. This is because these often cause unnecessary bloat and slow down the website.

E-learning environment

Online learning in the academy

In the online academy of Knowledge Institute for Municipalities, professionals can brush up on their knowledge on various topics. Online training courses can be offered to entire teams, usually with a municipality as main customer. In addition, these online courses are also provided as part of on-site training, a so-called blended learning method.

Hosting solution for many active users

To keep the online learning environment fast for students, we use Google Cloud Hosting. Wondering why this technology? A learning environment with many concurrent users requires extra server power. Simple ‘shared hosting’ is not powerful enough for this, resulting in a very slow website or even server errors. Within our setup of Google Cloud hosting, the number of available resources grows dynamically along with the number of active users. This keeps the learning environment fast, even with many active users. This contributes to a nice learning experience.
